December is arriving, and it is time to bring the Elf on The Shelf up around the house. For you who does not really familiar with Elf on The Shelf, it is actually a figurine with a story. Children believe that they are the assistant of Santa which comes to every house. Therefore, they watch how the children behave. Then if the children is kind and good, Santa will send them some gift.

First of all, this figurine is starting to get its popularity on 2005. There is a children book published in the USA to tell Elf on The Shelf story. After that time, it became popular and being liked by children all over the world.

Parents usually need to place the elf wherever on the house for the children to notice. Some parents then will placed a treat or gift near the elf if they think the children behave nicely. Here are some ideas of how to place the elf on the fun way.

Not Only in The Shelf

Even though the name is Elf on the Shelf, parents do not need to put it on the shelf. Rather, try to place them where you think the children can help you with household job. For example, you might agree to put the Elf  on the kitchen. Furthermore, your daughter might help you preparing the Christmas dish.

Gift For The Kids Who Behaves

Everyday, usually the parents will move the elf in different places. By this way, the children will think that they are really living in the house, and watch for them.

If the kids then behave nicely, you should always reward them with something. Elf on the Shelf can be placed near the present you prepare for the kids. Of course your children will be happy when he/she found them. You can then tell a story of why they deserves some present.
